02 — About Our Company

Dedicated to
One Innovation.

ASF Rifle Magazine Company exists for one purpose: to manufacture and provide the Anti-Spring Fatigue Magazine. Our website is intentionally dedicated to this product alone, without unrelated products or services competing for attention.

We believe in concentrating our energy where it matters most: on the design, quality, and continued development of a magazine born from a real-world challenge.

Our goal is to make that innovation accessible to the people who can benefit from it.

“Manufacturing and providing this unique magazine is all we do; and all we want to do.”

03 — The People Behind ASF

Built on
Firsthand Experience.

Behind ASF is a team of firearms enthusiasts with more than 150 years of combined firearms experience. Team members have served across branches of the United States Armed Forces and/or in law enforcement.

For founder Gunnery Sergeant Rob August, USMC (Retired), the inspiration was not simply to introduce another product. It was to answer a problem he and his colleagues had encountered through years of service.

That shared experience became the foundation for a company with a singular purpose.

“

There’s gotta be a better way!

04 — The Origin Story

It All Started
in Alaska.

One routine assignment at Naval Air Station Adak in 1984 raised a question that stayed with the team for years.

A Problem Worth Solving.

While serving at Naval Air Station Adak, Alaska, Rob August and several colleagues were assigned to replace older ammunition in magazines that had been stored fully loaded for years.

During the work, the group discovered that many of the magazines—including some that had never been used—appeared to have fatigued springs. The experience exposed a concern about long-term storage and the cost of replacing entire magazines.

Rather than accept that as inevitable, they began asking whether a better approach was possible.

“There must be some way of preserving the spring.”

05 — The Development Journey

From an Idea to
a Patented Design.

The answer did not come overnight. It took years of thinking, experimentation, refinement, and testing.

01 / EXPERIENCE

The Challenge

Repeated encounters with magazine spring concerns during long-term storage kept the original question alive.

02 / CONCEPT

A Different Approach

The team developed a concept centered on reducing spring tension while the magazine was stored.

03 / DEVELOPMENT

Prototypes & Patents

Workshop prototypes led to two issued U.S. patents, followed by additional 3D-printed and polymer iterations.

04 / VALIDATION

Refined for Production

The design underwent computer-based evaluation and live-range testing before proceeding to injection-molded production.

06 — Engineering Philosophy

Designed with
Purpose.

The resulting ASF Magazine brings together the company’s patented design concept, a custom spring, and durable materials in an approach focused on long-term ownership.

ASF reports that its movable sleeve reduces spring tension by approximately 50% during storage. The company describes this as a response to the problem that first inspired the project.

After a series of prototypes and evaluations, the team moved to injection-molded manufacturing using Duramide™ PA66 fiberglass-reinforced polymer.
